We are happy to share the excellent panel dedicated to Todor Alexandrov, which was organized during the 103rd convention of the Macedonian Patriotic Organization in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The panel presentation was initiative of MPO chapter "Pirin" with the great contribution of two academic figures - Ivan D. Ivanov (University of Cincinnati) and Vassilen Vassevski (Harold Washington College).
The presentation is focused on the The presentation presents the most important moments in the life of Aleksandrov as a public figure and revolutionary, his vision for the creation of Independent Macedonia after the unsuccessful First World War for the Bulgarian people and his actions in this direction, his tragic murder and the possible reasons for it, and ends with the memory of him in the modern societies of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia.
In Bulgaria, Alexandrov is considered a national hero. We believe that the day is coming when North Macedonia will unanimously accept him as such, rehabilitate his ideological legacy and remove the stigma of "controversial figure" because of his Bulgarian identity. Then the two countries will be able to honor the hero together.
